I started winding pickups after spending a small fortune and wasting a lot of time trying one mass produced pickup after another and never nailing a good sound.  The key turned out to be hand winding which produces tone that just cannot be achieved by mechanically winding coils.

The only mechanics involved in the making of Catswhisker Pickups are an electric motor to rotate the coil and my own fingers to guide the wire.

I have based the range of pickups that I offer on traditional concepts. However innovation is the name of the game and I offer a few twists on these concepts and will be happy to look at something a bit more special or oddball for you.

My prices are very competitive with all but far eastern imports.  If you can find something from the far east that nails it for you, then fine, but such pickups are predominantly made to a cost with just a nod to tone and quality.

Catswhisker pickups are assembled from the same quality components that you will find used in far more expensive pickups elsewhere.

Tone, quality and reliability are my priorities.
