Drop in replacement pickups for T-Style guitars all with a certain transparency that lets the
unique tone of the guitar shine through.
Model T is a classic wound T-Style bridge pickup with Alnico 5 poles as standard producing a big, single coil tone with ultimate clarity and no ice-pick edge.
The T-Bucker stays faithful to the T-tone but produces it without hum. Stacked humbucking single coils often fall short of the mark, but the 3+3 side by side coil arrangement of the T-Bucker
eliminates the undesirable aspects of stacked coils by retaining s natural single coil tone with
the clarity and sparkle that goes with it. Output is just a little touch higher than the Model T .
Neck pickups fitted to T-Style guitars often get some bad press but I think that you’ll find my
Model T/N breaks the mould. I fit nice tall Alnico rods and wind with plenty of scatter and low
tension to open up the sound; it’s almost like having an S-style pickup at the neck . The output balances with the Model T, T-Bucker and TP90.
The TP90 projects a more rock oriented character and the magnetic layout simulates the wide field of a true P90. But tweek your amp and you can still hear the T-style characteristic coming through. A very versatile pickup that is comfortable with anything from rockabilly through to
60’s rock tones
A variation for the neck position is the Open Telly neck pickup. Loosing the traditional cover allows me to make the coil fatter and get some 42 gauge wire on there instead of the thinner 43 gauge normally used on T style neck pickups . The result is a slightly fuller tone with plenty of sparkle ideal for smooth, clear rhythm work or tight lead playing
